An ultrasound investigation is scanning of the body organs using ultrasound which can penetrate living tissues.
This painless, safe and effective method of diagnostics is extremely popular and allows the doctor to see almost all organs on the screen.
Why should you have an ultrasound performed at our clinic?
The image quality during an ultrasound examination and hence the diagnosis accuracy directly depend on the ultrasound machine resolution capabilities. We perform ultrasound investigations only using the most modern expert-class ultrasound scanners.
What ultrasound investigations are the most popular?
The most popular ultrasound investigations are ultrasound of the abdomen, pelvic organs (for women), the heart and vessels (dopplerography and echocardiography). The ultrasound also allows to assess the condition of the thyroid body, mammary glands, the scrotum, soft tissues, joints, deep veins of neck, head and even eyes.

How to prepare for an ultrasound?
Abdominal and renal arteries ultrasound
This investigation is carried out on an empty stomach. It is recommended to refrain from food 6-8 hours prior to the procedure, also one should not drink water for 2 hours before it. The night before one should not eat gas-forming products (bread, legumes, vegetables, fruits, milk). One can drink Espumisan, as well as Smecta or activated charcoal the day before the investigation.
Kidney and bladder ultrasound
Bladder filling process is quite individual, for some people it takes only two hours, and for some up to four. One can stick to a normal drinking regimen. It is advised not to urinate 2 hours prior to the procedure. The key point is that the bladder must be half-full.
Mammary glands
Since our equipment has a high resolution, there is no need to perform examination only during the first phase of the menstrual cycle. It can be performed on any convenient day.
Pelvic ultrasound
This investigation can be performed with a transabdominal sensor (against the abdomen skin). In this case the bladder must be full, so one should drink about a litre of water and not urinate for one hour prior to the procedure. This type of pelvic ultrasound is suitable for newborn babies, kids, teenagers, adults and the elderly who are not recommended or don’t want to perform the transvaginal one.
If the ultrasound is performed in a transvaginal way, then it is necessary to empty the bladder before the procedure.
